When I digital scrapbook, I create a whole layout on one document in Photoshop.  After I am finished with the page, I copy and paste each half of the layout onto separate "pages."  That way I can place them in my "books" that are later published.  You'll notice that I leave margins around the edges of each page to make room for "bleeding." Bleeding is where the picture is printed all the way to the edges, and some of the picture is lost in the printing.

The most pages I have done in one week was about 160, which was a book I made of my family reunion in July 2006.  For the most part, the pages were very simple, and I used very few embellishments (not only because of time constraint, but also because I have five brothers who aren't really into "frills").  It was quite a task.  My mom came out to take care of my kids so I could finish the project before Christmas.  NOTE TO SELF: Don't attempt to do that many in a week again.

Why are there so many layouts of Brooke?

I think I have more layouts of Brooke than anyone else. I think the reason is because 1) she's photogenic, 2)she's cute, and 3) her birthday happens to be in January, and usually after the Christmas holidays, I get re-motivated to start scrapbooking again, and I usually start with the month of January.
I didn't think I'd like this LO as I was making it. I'm not a big pastel person, but it's grown on me. I wish I could remember where I got the embellishments and paper. The pictures' resolution may not look that great, and that is because these are still shots I made when I was editing the video of the carnival. As far as I know, there weren't very many pictures taken with a regular camera of this memorable event, and I wanted my kids to remember this experience, so I made still shots when I was editing the video.

This LO was taken from Becky Higgins' "Sketches" book. I love it's overall simplicity. The longer I scrapbook, the less "frilly" my pages seem to get. I just made this one in January '08. I used mostly brushes to add texture to the paper. I love brushes.

Bundle of Joy 2/2005

I don't know what it is about this page that makes me really like it. I loved using several fun brushes that I bought from somewhere, I don't remember. I have a hard time choosing the best pictures, so often I add most of them in a set. That's the beauty of digital scrapbooking--you can add as many pictures as you want on a page and adjust the size and shape of them.

Collage 2005

Do you ever wonder what to do with all those craft projects your kids make? Well, I didn't want to "save" them because some had beans and other objects that were falling off. So I make collages of some of the art work done by my kids. I also included tickets and other memorabilia to remember. I just scanned in the papers and then resized them to fit on the page. The background of this one was painted by Brooke.
